How Patience Determines Your Success in Life and Business

How to become more patient in life

”The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.” – Leo Tolstoy

Yesterday I had an incredible conversation with someone very close to me. We talked about patience.

I’m not going to lie, I’ve been struggling with patience for as long as I can remember, but ever since I got myself on to social media that impatience that has always been rooted deep inside of me has gotten even bigger.

A lack of patience is the biggest enemy of success

I often feel that if I don’t see results in a week or a month, I’m not doing something right. I feel that I need to change something up and I often do.

This keeps me in a constant loop of changing things and not sticking to them and I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Because of the lack of patience, we often try to look for jobs, hobbies, and opportunities that will get us to our goals quickly. We try to look for things that will bring our insanely big wants and desires to life in a very short amount of time.

The truth is the universe doesn’t work that way. It never did and it never will.

Everything around us is a result of millions of years of consistent work, so why would we even think we can achieve our dreams within a month or even a year?

The secret lies in the love for the process.

You need to let go of chasing success and let it come to you. To do that, you need to let time and compounding do its thing.

Warren Buffet is successful because of his incredible patience.

Take a look at how long it took Warren Buffet to get where he is today. And we want all that in a month? Who are we kidding?

Warren Buffet and his patience

Yesterday while I was doing some cardio in the gym, I thought about a good friend of mine. I felt this deep respect for him and his success. Well, actually it was a feeling of deep respect for one of his virtues. Patience.

He has been working on his ONE thing for over 3 years now and he never gave up. Sure there were times when he struggled and lost some drive, but he kept at it. He continued and after he pushed through that he says his motivation and drive grew even bigger.

He transformed his passion for photography into a business, he’s only 18 years old and he’s on his way to opening up a very big business. He probably doesn’t see it yet or realize it, but I can see it for him. His passion, persistence, and patience are there. I know that he will keep at it and with time he will be one of most successful photographers in Slovenia. You can check out his photos here.

Become more patient and let success come to you.

What I’m trying to say is that while other people try and reach success with short-term strategies and other get rich quick schemes, they’re just wasting both time and money.

The story above really proves that over time with patience and persistence you can turn your passion into a full-time business. All you need is patience and love for what you do.

Jan Zorič Patience

Stop focusing on the material objects and dreaming about having what you want, just believe that it will come because it will. I promise you that.

Be present and happy with what you have NOW.

But by trying to get it NOW and following these get rich quick schemes and wondering why you’re not successful after a month, you’re not going to get there.

Instead of wasting your time on these small things, go with patience. Choose the second route, the one that’s guaranteed. It might take you longer to get there, but at least you’ll know that one day you’ll certainly get there.

Accept the NOW and escape the continuous loop of trying to get success overnight. It’s not going to happen and even if it is, the chance of it is so small that you might as well go for the second option.

Like I said earlier, it took millions of years to get to where we are today. Rome wasn’t built in a day either. Keep that in mind.

Until next time,

Benjamin 🙂
